Can you give us a little background on the project?     

My husband and I found a foreclosure a few years ago and knew this was our dream home. The entire house needed tlc! Our first project we had to tackle was obviously the kitchen and we were on a serious budget. We wanted quality cabinets that were affordable and thankfully found Prime Cabinetry. After pricing a few other cabinet companies Prime Cabinetry not only had the best price but was the easiest to work with.

From where did you gain your inspiration?

This house inspired a modern farmhouse feel. We wanted to keep everything light, bright and clean! Pinterest was a big help but all in all it was just seeing different samples and having that gut feeling.

What made you decide to work with Prime Cabinetry?

We ultimately decided to go with Prime Cabinetry because the samples were quality and pricing was great. What really sealed the deal however, was the customer service. To me, that was the most important thing since you are designing something that is going to be the heart of the home! No question was ever too much and was answered so promptly and kindly.

What advice would you give someone who is just beginning their remodeling journey?

We have a friend right now that is starting and I told them that first of all, if they survive the remodel then they will stay married forever lol. Secondly, ask references for everyone you work with. Contractors and companies can be unreliable and flaky. Do your research on everyone!

What do you enjoy most about your new kitchen/bath?

When we bought the house, the island was basically the width of the stovetop. There was no greater satisfaction for us when we tore that down and built our 9ft long island. It is the centerpiece of the entire main room because our family room is next to our kitchen and it is so great for entertaining! Also, the island has so much storage space so we have room for everything!
