Mid-Century Modern Flip
Mid-Century Modern Flip
One of Prime Cabinetry’s long time Dealers, Coury Sicker, has been a part of the Wholesale Program since 2017. We
greatly appreciate his many years of business, and are pleased to showcase one of his completed house flipping
projects! This vintage mid-century home was desperate for some updates, and Coury did an awesome job putting life
back into the 100-year-old house.
Can You Give Us A Little Background On The Project?
This home was owned by a 103-year-old woman. It hadn't been maintained in over 20 years and was falling apart. As a sucker for Mid Century architecture, I had to buy it and restore it. It was a huge undertaking but seeing it restored, with a modern/industrial touch, making it one of the most rewarding and amazing projects I've ever done.
From Where Did You Gain Your Inspiration?
I try to draw inspiration from anything I can. When going to a restaurant or even staying at a hotel, I study everything and draw inspiration when I get excited. I also try to let the house speak to me and let it decide what design would work best for the architecture.
What Made You Decide To Work With Prime Cabinetry?
I've used Prime Cabinetry over a dozen times. It's very easy to order, easy to price, and the delivery is quick....not to mention the quality is there. Nothing but positive experiences with them.
What Advice Would You Give Someone Who Is Just Beginning Their Remodeling Journey?
No matter how much you plan, unexpected issues will occur. There's always a point in all my projects where I get stressed out and wonder if an end is in sight. If you stick to the plan, stay true to your vision, you will make it through and will be happy with the results. Also, make sure you budget extra money for unexpected issues. haha!
What Do You Enjoy Most About Your New Kitchen/Bath?
Giving life back to the home, especially the center of the home (the kitchen), was extremely rewarding. The new kitchen opened up the whole space and became a kind of grand central station for all parties.
Coury was pleased with the outcome of his remodel and how the cabinets really transformed the space. Prime Cabinetry supplied a transitional Shaker Driftwood cabinet style, and Coury used it to revamp a 103-year-old house into a modern oasis. We can not wait to see what he does next!
