The Charming Texan Cottage
The Charming Texan Cottage
Our very own Fixer Uppers, Cheryl and David Cherry, “shiplapped” their way through this charming Texas home remodel.
This husband and wife team took on flipping a neighboring house in January of 2019. With the help of Prime Cabinetry,
they were able to transform this once run down shack into a livable home.
Can You Give Us A Little Background On The Project?
My wife and I purchased the house next door to ours knowing it was pretty much a full gut and start over. I've built a few houses so I have the experience to get the work done but I have zero taste. All my taste is in my mouth. My sweet wife has all the brains when it comes to colors, styles, etc. This house was built in the 1940s or 50s so it was full of shiplap hidden behind the layers of sheetrock mud, paneling, and Styrofoam ceiling tiles. We ended up putting sheetrock in the bedrooms and hallway and went with a farmhouse look in the kitchen, living room, and bathroom.
From Where Did You Gain Your Inspiration?
Chip and Joanna of course. The shiplap/farmhouse style is super popular right now and it worked very well in this house because of all the shiplap already there.
What Made You Decide To Work With Prime Cabinetry?
Simple, quick answer: price and quality.
What Advice Would You Give Someone Who Is Just Beginning Their Remodeling Journey?
If you're doing a kitchen and/or bathroom check out Prime Cabinetry. They have something for every budget, style, and taste. And the service is great to boot!
What Do You Enjoy Most About Your New Kitchen/Bath?
We purchased the house to keep as a rental property but may end up selling it so we're not really going to be able to enjoy it. However, the satisfaction of seeing how it turned out (as compared to the “before” pictures), was absolutely amazing!
We love hearing our clients rave about the final outcome of a project! As rewarding as it is for our customers, it is also just as rewarding for the Prime Cabinetry team to see a finished project. We enjoy being a part of making kitchen dreams into a reality. A special thanks to David and his wife Cheryl for sharing their experience.
