Walker Ridge End
The Brick Charmer
Julie Cox grew up in Marietta GA, where she runs her house flipping business J Cox Investments. With a passion for remodeling, she purchased a house in her hometown, ready to start renovating as soon as she could. After four years, this 1986 home was ready for some modern-day TLC. In 2018, as the holidays were fastly approaching, she knew she was ready to focus on her own kitchen remodel for a change. Julie was looking to get her project done quickly, efficiently, and under budget. Since already having worked with us on previous projects, Julie knew right away that she would be using Prime Cabinetry for her kitchen remodel.
Choosing Prime Cabinetry
Julie has been working with Prime Cabinetry as a wholesaler since late 2017. She found Prime Cabinetry through online searching in December and reached out to us with her first kitchen remodel in that same month. “I found your website and felt that the products met my needs from both a flipping standpoint and from a design aspect for homeowners looking to update their own spaces. After my first project with y’all I fell in love with the entire team and haven’t looked back!” Says Julie
The Prime Cabinetry design team has completed four Kitchen remodels with Julie thus far, one being her own kitchen which we are highlighting here. After working with a member of our design team, experiencing first-hand how simple our start to finish process is, and seeing the quality of our cabinets, Julie was certain she wanted to work with us on her own kitchen project.
“I have enjoyed working with Prime Cabinetry, they have made the ease of ordering and designing absolutely amazing and have wonderful customer service.” Says Julie
Shaker White all the Way
For her project Julie was set on using our Shaker White cabinets to brighten up her space. The dark and dated cabinets previously installed had overstayed their welcome, and she knew it was time for a fresh, new look. She gained her inspiration from the desire to incorporate brick. “I always loved the kitchens in Williamsburg, Va. and the use of brick. This was something I wanted to do for years. Everything else just fell into place once I designed the brick walls.” Says Julie
Her creative ideas have come from playing off her ’86 traditional home, while incorporating modern updates. “The original house design was traditional but as I’m renovating, I’m giving it a modern twist with traditional elements.” Says Julie
A Space optimized for Functionality
Julie took her dated kitchen that she could no longer use for proper entertaining and turned it into a hostess’ dream. The dark brown cabinets were causing the space to feel tight and confined, and she knew this was what needed to change most. After the remodel, the Shaker White cabinets not only brightened up the entire room, but also gave Julie the proper storage and functionality she needed to better host her friends and family. “I love all of the storage that I now have. And while I gained more storage it didn’t impede my desire to have an open, large kitchen.” Says Julie.
Overall the kitchen now has better options for seating with her new island, more space for social gatherings, and added storage to hold her surplus of cooking utensils. “I’ve used Prime Cabinetry products in projects where I have flipped homes and again in my own home…The quality is there, the customer service is there, and the design team is great to work with. I have been absolutely thrilled with Prime Cabinetry.” Says Julie
This remodel was a long time coming for Julie, and Prime Cabinetry helped expedite the process to keep her on track. She started with Prime Cabinetry by contacting them regarding her kitchen remodel around October 16, 2018. By November 18th her cabinets and appliances were completely installed, just in time for her to host holiday get-togethers with friends and family.
Comparing vendors and shopping prices can be a hectic part of a remodel. At Prime Cabinetry we strive to make each step as simple as possible. To those starting a new kitchen remodel for the first time Julie says “Consider what you currently use your space for. What doesn’t work, and how you would like to use the new space. Do you need extra outlets, want glass fronts to display a China collection, a work space for homework, drawers to accommodate regularly used appliances, space for entertaining and need large spaces to serve food, and to be prepared by putting a microwave in an easy to access place during Reno!”
In the end, Julie was ecstatic with the outcome of her new kitchen. “Truth be told, Prime Cabinetry is great to work with and the products are amazing.” Says Julie
