Prime Cabinetry customer Logan Wyatt was ecstatic when his kitchen and bath remodel finally made it to the top of his to-do list. Years of putting it off led him to know exactly what he wanted the transformation to look like, and boy did Prime Cabinetry deliver. We asked Logan a few questions covering what the project meant to him and how it became the beautiful kitchen and bath it is today.
Can You Give Us A Little Background On The Project?
I bought this house in 2016 as my first home. My plan was to remodel the kitchen right away but due to other unexpected projects it was pushed back three years. The kitchen had a horrible remodel done before I purchased it. The fruit and vegetable tiles on the wall drove me crazy. Since it took so long to start the remodel, I had plenty of ideas of how I wanted to do things and was able to perfect the layout. We completely rearranged the kitchen, removed a load-bearing wall, and closed off a hallway to triple the size of the bathroom. The first thing I did for the remodel was to take a sledgehammer to the fruit tiles.
From Where Did You Gain Your Inspiration?
Most of the ideas came from what I found online and in the homes of friends and family. I am sure I have 1,000 screenshots on my phone of kitchens and different things about them I love. I would go to friends' homes and take pictures of the way they did things. I got advice from close friends along the way and made sure to run my ideas through them before making major decisions.
What Made You Decide To Work With Prime Cabinetry?
I shopped around for days online trying to find the right cabinets at the right price. I was considering Ready-to-Assemble cabinets but wasn’t convinced until I stumbled upon Prime Cabinetry. I was even close to spending significantly more with a competitor. The reviews on Prime Cabinetry’s website were great. They helped give me comfort in knowing the quality would be there at the price point I wanted. After inquiring about a quote, I was put into contact with a great designer who made the process easy. I actually ended up having a small issue with my order, but it was resolved incredibly quick and easy. Once the cabinets came in I was blown away by the quality.
What Advice Would You Give Someone Who Is Just Beginning Their Remodeling Journey?
Get your ideas written down and organized. You will be making hundreds of decisions; especially if you are doing the project by yourself. Staying organized will help you steer clear of any missteps along the way.
What Do You Enjoy Most About Your New Kitchen/Bath?
The cabinet storage and counter space! The old kitchen layout was so poorly designed that there was barely any usable counter space. The cabinets were filled to the brim so I had little room to house most things. Now, I enjoy my large cooking area and counter space. It's also wonderful to have storage in the bathroom again.
